If the bulb sat a little deeper into the gimbal there would be less glare. LED MR16s have come a long way, with patience you can find the exact beam angle that will give good definition to your lighting. So that final touch would be to not really see the surface of the bright bulb, only the light that it casts. (Posted on 5/21/2021)

I bought 20 of these units in 2012 to focus light on art hanging on the wall. With only halogen available, the units were ill-made because of an overly large heat-shield (very necessary for 50W MR16s then listed). Constant burnout; difficulty with shield; and the horrid light shift of halogen towards circa 540 nm [green]. New units dropped the heat shield and downed halogen to 35w while accommodating LEDs -- enabling selective color display by user's choice. Moreover, TRL introduced the spring clips (much easier than the video for my 6" retrofit). Bottom line: These units can, with their wide adjustable angle, be a very satisfying retro. They are also quite inconspicuous. Now to find a dimmer as efficient. Good Unit. (Posted on 4/22/2021)

The product itself is very easy to install to retrofit your existing 6" recessed light. I specifically got this kit to pair with Solux daylight MR16 bulbs to aim on photo prints of my photography work. It worked out to be a great solution and way better than anything that attached to a frame. I found the instructional video on this site to be very helpful, but did run into a snag when I found that one of my existing light housing didn't have clips for the torsion springs. Support led me to find clips that you can easily add in. Problem solved.
The one con I will note is that one of my fixtures arrived with scratches on the finish. Total RL has said they will be sending me a replacement. (Posted on 12/28/2017)
